New Member Auditions
The mission of the California Youth Symphony is to provide talented young musicians with the finest musical experience, and the opportunity for personal growth through the rehearsal and performance of symphonic music. Auditions for CYS are open to students of high school age and younger as of September of the coming season. Auditions for NEW members for the 2011-2012 season will be held the weekends of April 13 & 14, and April 20 & 21. Auditions may be conducted by any of a number of different CYS directors. Percussion auditions will be held on Sundays, April 15 & 22. Completed applications, along with $25 application fee per musician, must be received by March 16 and will be processed in the order received. All audition appointment times will be mailed out at the same time, on March 23. Audition results will be mailed in early May.
After you submit your Online Audition Application, you will receive an automatic email confirmation. Please mail a copy of this email confirmation to the CYS office along with a check for the audition fee. If you do not receive your email confirmation, please check your spam folder first.
