2011 Bay Area Youth Orchestra Festival
BAYOF Hope Concert Sunday, January 16, 2011, 3:00 pm Davies Symphony Hall 201 Van Ness Ave. San Francisco, CA 94102 Join six of the Bay Area’s Youth Orchestras as they come together for a celebration of music in our vibrant community with a special concert at Davies Symphony Hall. Proceeds from the concert will benefit six organizations, one within each orchestra’s local community, that provide resources to under-served and homeless youth. Featuring: California Youth Symphony, Oakland Youth Orchestra, Peninsula Youth Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra, Santa Rosa Symphony Youth Orchestra, and Young People’s Symphony Orchestra. Program includes works by Dvořák, Rimsky-Korsakov, Marquez, Ginastera, Sibelius, Richard Strauss, and Respighi. Come and be awed and inspired by the energy and talent of these young musicians! The concert will be a benefit for the following programs: Covenant House California of Oakland, DrawBridge of San Francisco, Students Rising Above of San Francisco, Sunday Friends of San Jose, The Valley of the Moon Children’s Foundation of Santa Rosa, and YEAH! of Berkeley.
