Safety Information

Welcome back to live concerts!

We are committed to ensuring that you have an exceptional concert experience, with confidence in the policies and procedures designed for a safe environment for all.

In alignment with Santa Clara & San Mateo County guidelines, CYS has implemented the following policies and procedures to provide a safe environment for our audiences, artists, and staff:

Proof of full vaccination is required for everyone attending CYS concerts. “Fully vaccinated” means 2 weeks after your second dose in a 2-dose series or after a single-dose vaccine. California residents may request a digital vaccination record at All attendees will need to bring either their physical vaccination card, a picture of their vaccination card, or a digital vaccination record, along with their valid photo ID and concert ticket. Negative COVID tests are not allowed as a substitute for proof of vaccination.

At this time, we cannot welcome guests under the age of 12 who are not yet eligible for vaccination. As soon as children under the age of 12 become eligible to receive a vaccine, we will welcome fully vaccinated children back to CYS concerts. If you are not fully vaccinated by the date of your planned visit to a CYS concert, you may enjoy our CYS concert from the comfort and safety of your own home by visiting our CYS YouTube channel. If you have already reserved tickets, you may return your tickets by emailing

Before entering the venue, each guest must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination and a valid photo ID to the CYS staff stationed at the tables outside the main doors. Each staff member will be in a black or dark outfit, wearing a bright red scarf or red CYS lanyard and a name badge

Any of the CYS staff can process your verification. Please have whatever form of vaccine record (printed or digital) and your photo ID ready when you get to one of the verification stations to keep things moving along. Upon verification, you will receive a wristband showing that you are clear for entry. Once you have that wristband, you may proceed directly to any ticket attendant inside the concert hall.

The San Mateo Performing Arts Center requires all guests wear masks inside the concert hall.

Wear a mask with two or more layers. Wear the mask over your nose and mouth and under your chin. The following are prohibited: Masks with exhalation valves; masks made of loosely woven fabrics; scarves, buffs, bandanas, gaiters, and face shields alone (inadequate protection). The performers on stage will be masked, so we ask that you are too!

Stay home if you are sick or have COVID-19 symptoms, have been in contact with someone known to be or suspected to have been infected with COVID-19 within the last 10 days, or if you are subject to a quarantine or isolation order. For ticket returns, please email

The San Mateo Performing Arts Center runs its ventilation system at all times, regardless of weather conditions, to make sure the air is exchanging as frequently as possible. Hand sanitizer stations are positioned throughout the hall. Please wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or use the hand sanitizer stations. Program books will be available in both printed and digital formats. CYS will also implement physical distancing.

For the first time in CYS history, we will live stream our concerts on October 31st and December 5th on the CYS YouTube channel. Guests who are not fully vaccinated or not yet eligible for vaccination can view our live performances from the safety of their own homes. Along with our patrons and supporters who cannot physically attend these concerts, our live stream provides access to our families and friends worldwide. Visit CYS Media Channel
