Conductor | Pete Nowlen

Led by UC Davis Concert Band Director, Pete Nowlen, the CYS Wind Symphony performs a mix of wind classics, orchestral transcriptions and exciting new repertoire for advanced wind ensemble. Recent performances have included works of Bernstein, Maslanka, Hisaishi, Marquez and Chen Yi, and new works of Shuying Li, Asha Srinivasan, Yan Pang and Soo-Hyun Park. The Wind Symphony provides advanced woodwind, brass and percussion players with a highly focused, professional training and ensemble experience. The newly inaugurated Wind Symphony Solo Competition provides members with the opportunity to solo with the band.

Performances
The Wind Symphony has three major performances per season, in beautiful venues such as Cañada College Theatre in Redwood City, Smithwick Theatre in Los Altos Hills, Chabot College Performing Arts Complex in Hayward, and San Mateo Performing Arts Center. 

Rehearsals
Sundays: 9:30 Calltime, Rehearsal 9:45 - 11:45 AM
Rehearsal schedule changes are at the discretion of the Director
