Wind Ensembles

The CYS Wind Ensemble program comprises of two orchestral winds and brass ensembles providing instruction from the introductory level to intermediate level. Students are exposed to standard transpositions and clef usage typical to their instrument in orchestral literature, and they work on orchestral style music in preparation for CYS' full symphonic orchestras. The Wind Ensembles focus on blend, articulation and introduces students to standard orchestral doublings and skill sets needed as a successful musician. 

The CYS Wind Ensembles perform two concerts in beautiful performance halls in the Peninsula. The first performance is in early December, and the second performance is in early June.

Sunday afternoons:
Chamber Winds: 2:00 - 3:30 PM
Wind Ensemble: 3:45 - 5:45 PM

Rehearsal schedule changes are at the discretion of the Director

During the season, sectional workshops are held once per concert cycle, led by prominent musicians in the Bay Area.
