Since its inception in 1952, the California Youth Symphony has strived to create the future music citizens of the world through our world class music programs. Whether alumni go on to have careers in music or other professions, it is our goal to nurture and foster a deep and lasting appreciation and love for music that will stay with them throughout their lives.
Alumni can support the organization in many ways including organizing fundraising events, volunteering in the office, sharing information to friends about concerts, attending concerts, and making donations. Our annual fundraiser celebrating current and former CYS musicians. All alumni are welcome to participate in this musical marathon. Even if you no longer play your instrument, feel free to showcase another talent!
Alumni Homecoming Reunion
May 28 - 30, 2027
Reunite with generations of alumni over Memorial Day weekend to celebrate the 75-year milestone and the Season Finale concert. Sneak peak of the weekend schedule:
- Friday, May 28: Welcome picnic – come reconnect with old friends and make new ones.
- Saturday, May 29: Camp day! Re-experience CYS summer camp with rehearsals, food, and fun activities. Stay tuned for Maestro Eylar's repertoire selection, one of which will be performed the very next day at the Season Finale concert (sheet music will be provided in advance).
- Sunday, May 30: Season Finale concert featuring the CYS Alumni Orchestra – YOU! – and the Senior Orchestra, followed by a celebration dinner with fellow alumni and the graduating class of 2027.
