Season Finale Concert

Maestro Eylar and Nowlen close the CYS Associate Orchestra and CYS Wind Symphony Season with a program guaranteed to please and dazzle listeners. We will feature David Wang, our violin soloist winner of the Associate Orchestra Concerto Contest, who will perform the brilliant final movement from Saint-Saëns’ Violin Concerto no. 3. The orchestra will close the season with Khachaturian’s Three Dances from the Gayne Ballet, Gustav Holst’s rollicking Jupiter from his monumental work for orchestra The Planets, and as a grand finale we offer the final movement from Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony, one of the most important symphonic works of the entire 20th century. Maestro Pete Nowlen will direct the Wind Symphony in works classical and modern composers. Don’t miss our exciting final concert of the 2019-20 season!
