Amy Zheng

Graduating Senior Concerto Competition Winner

Amy Zheng, 17, is a senior at Monta Vista High School. She currently studies with Zhao Wei and began her violin studies with Linda Stone. This is her sixth year with CYS and fifth in Senior Orchestra. She has performed with the California All-State ensembles every year since 2019 and has placed in the 2022 US International Open Music Competition, 2023 Music International Grand Prix, and 2020 Pacific Musical Society Competition. At school, Amy is concertmaster of the Monta Vista Chamber Orchestra and Co-President of the Tri-M Honor Society. She is also an avid volunteer in the music community, serving as the Executive Director of Notelove and the president of Market Youth Musicians. Outside of music, Amy is a 2024 Coca-Cola Scholar, 2024 Elks Most Valuable Student scholarship recipient, and Diamond Challenge grand prize awardee for her work in researching accessible disaster response systems and prototyping a patent-pending electrostatic solar panel cleaner with her international team. Amy is a passionate plant mom, Earth enthusiast, and cafe-hopper, and will attend Stanford University this Fall studying Physics and Electrical Engineering.
