Madelyn Zhu

Associate Orchestra Concerto Competition Winner

Madelyn Zhu, age 11, is from Palo Alto. She started her first violin lesson at age five-and-a-half and currently studies with Zhao Wei. Madelyn has won several violin awards, including 1st place in the U.S. International Music Competition (USIMC) in 2021 and 2023, and 2nd place in the Pacific Musical Society & Foundation Competition in 2023. She has also attended the Summer Music Institute at Tateuchi Hall. This is her first year in CYS.
