Calling all young string musicians! Registration for our String Ensembles Camp will be open soon for both current members and non-members.

2026 String Camp Times

  • Intermezzi Strings - 9:00 am - 3:00 pm (until 3:30 pm on Friday)
  • Virtuosi Strings - 9:00 am - 3:00 pm (until 3:30 pm on Friday)

Eligibility
The camp is designed for beginning- to intermediate-level strings students (violin, viola, cello, and bass) who can read music and have experience with their instrument for at least 1 year. The CYS Strings Camp allows participants to receive a high-powered headstart for the coming school year with several days of intensive music-making, daily practicing techniques, ensemble playing, and chamber music lessons. 

Registration and Payment (all fees are non-refundable)

In the event that a program fills before the deadline, students may be accepted onto a waitlist. CYS will contact waitlisted students if space becomes available.

Enrollment will be confirmed when payment is received in full.

How to Enroll
When the form becomes available, complete one of two online forms below (new CYS members or current CYS members). New members will receive an email from the office requesting to register for camp through Soapbox.

Ensemble Placement via Informal Demonstration Video 
Non-members are placed into group classes and chamber ensembles with their peers. Placement in a group is based on a required but short, informal demonstration video of the student's current skill level. Participants will enjoy a variety of activities, including instrument technique and ensemble classes.

Tuition Assistance
Limited tuition assistance is available and is awarded based on demonstrated financial need.

More tuition assistance information, including the link to apply, will be available by the end of January.

After review of applications, CYS will contact students to inform them of their award. Based on the financial aid offered, if students wish to proceed with the camp, their portion of tuition must be paid upon acceptance of the tuition assistance aid award. 

Attendance
CYS’s programs involve group activities. One student’s absence for any amount of time could impact the the group(s) with which they are working. As such, full attendance and participation are expected for camp.

Absences and Make-ups
CYS does not provide a refund for missing camp.

Media Consent
CYS community members are occasionally photographed and filmed, for publicity purposes.
